On June 7, a special celebration in commemoration of the 5th anniversary since founding was held in Confucius Institute at Vienna University.

Officially founded on September 25, 2006, Confucius Institute, besides offering Chinese lessons, has organized over 170 lectures, concerts, exhibitions and performances, all of which have covered history, literature, arts, film, theatre, acrobatics, calligraphy, painting, photography, books, medical science, cuisine and tea ceremony, nearly all aspects of Chinese culture. A significant contribution has been made to enhancing mutual understanding and exchange between China and Austria as well as between the two peoples.
