The unique British art exhibition from the 20th till 21st centuries has been staged in the Imperial War Museum in Manchester. Titled as “Catalyst: Contemporary Art and War”, this exhibition discloses how war has become the main theme for contemporary art creation in the latest twenty years. With over 70 pieces of installations, photos, documents, sculptures, oil paintings and books by 40 artists, it showcases how those artists, inspired by war, create their artworks with extensive subjects and complicated emotions. While appreciating those artworks inspired by war and understanding this special creation approach, the audience can’t help thinking of the current situation of their global village.
