In 1984, Che Peng Ion took up photographystudies and joined the PSSM and the Photographic Society of Macao, with such titles as senior member and honorary senior memberof PSSM as well as senior member of the Royal Photographic Society. Besides acting as judges for international salon or theme photography competitions, he has had his works exhibited in the Mainland, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan as well as such foreign countries as Romania. He has given lectures and workshops on photography for many organizations and societies in Macao. His works can even be found at the website of China Photography Online.

"Reconstruction—CHE Peng Ion's Photography" exhibition,art of "Macao Artists Promotion Plan" sponsored byMacao Foundation, was held at Exhibition Hall of MacaoUNESCO Center from July 18 till 26. Along with the exhibitionconsisting of 69 selected works by Macao artist Che Peng Ion, thesame-name album was issued simultaneously.
Distinguished guests such as Mr. SHAO Bin, assistant director ofDepartment of Culture and Education of Central Liaison Officein Macao, Ms. ZHONG Yi, vice chair of Executive Committee ofMacao Foundation, Mr. CHAN Peng Fai, vice president of MacaoCulture Bureau, Mr. WONG Kuai Kun, honorary president of thePhotographic Society of Hong Kong, Mr. LAI Weng Chiu, lifehonorary chair of the Photography Salon Society of Macao(PSSM),and Mr. LEI U Weng, president of the PSSM, as well as Mr. CHANWai Lok, the curator and Mr. CHE Peng Ion, the author, attendedthe opening ceremony.
Consisting of 7 sections of photographic works of black-and-white and color styles, this "Reconstruction" exhibition offered areflection of the past decade in which Macao made tremendousefforts to realize the transition from gambling industry to touristrecreational industry as well as great changes that took place insuch a leisurely location of simplicity.
