Introduction
Founded in 1985, the China Television Artists Association (CTAA) is a professional mass organization composed of television and internet audiovisual artists from all ethic groups in China. CTAA is a group member of the China Federation of Literature and Art Circles (CFLAC).
Leveraging its organizational and professional advantages，CTAA diligently performs the fundamental functions of unity and guidance, communication and coordination, service and management, self-discipline and rights protection. It organizes and carries out various work such as training, high-quality creative work, awards and festivals, talents development, ethos building , art criticism, theoretical discussions, publicity, volunteer service, foreign exchanges and rights protection in the fields of television and internet audiovisual arts.
CTAA implements the system of group and individual memberships. At present, it has 35 group members, including those from 31 provinces, autonomous regions, and municipalities directly under the central government, the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps, the CCTV branch, the Xinhua News Agency branch, and more. It also has more than 8,300 individual members.
The key activities sponsored or co-sponsored by CTAA mainly include: the China TV Golden Eagle Awards, China Golden Eagle TV Art Festival, China College Student TV Festival, Moderately Prosperous Society TV Program Project, Cross-Strait TV Art Festival, China-Japan-Korea TV Producers Forum, China (Jilin) Animation Conference, China Tourism TV Week, and the TV Studio for Youngsters and Teenagers.
CTAA has more than 30 professional committees. It also sponsors the professional academic journal Contemporary TV.
The highest authority of CTAA is the National Congress, which is held every five years. When the National Congress is not in session, the Council implements the its resolutions. When the Council is not in session, the Presidium implements the resolutions of the Congress and the Council, with the executive vice president responsible for the daily work of CTAA.
